Gratitude notes for August 2020

I walked by a father playing in a local pond today with his two young children in the rain. The kids were screaming and laughing. I didn’t hear a word from the father; you could tell he was in “the zone” tossing his kids and giving them a memorable afternoon.

I also watched a duck eat a frog. That was wild.

I came across Spotlight (2015) for the first time yesterday. What really popped out at me from its story was how people who were once part of the problem can become part of the solution when their environment changes. I really enjoyed the film and the story it tells.

I’m incredibly grateful to be in favorable circumstances during the pandemic. I know my luck could turn at any moment, and I’m thankful that I don’t have to face down poverty or death today.
